RSP720 fabric channel speed
Hi!

This is for Cisco 7606 with two RSP720-3CXL-GE working as AS border router with BGP full views:

#show fabric status
slot channel speed module fabric hotsync Standby Standby
status status support module fabric
2 0 20G OK OK N/A
3 0 20G OK OK N/A
3 1 20G OK OK N/A
4 0 20G OK OK N/A
4 1 20G OK OK N/A
5 0 8G OK OK N/A
6 0 20G OK OK N/A

I wonder why module 5 can possibly have 8G speed instead of 20G?

Also, in case this matters:

#show fabric switching-mode
Global switching mode is Compact
dCEF mode is not enforced for system to operate
Fabric module is not required for system to operate
Modules are allowed to operate in bus mode
Truncated mode is allowed, due to presence of CEF720, Standby supervisor module

Module Slot Switching Mode

3 Crossbar
4 Crossbar
5 Crossbar
6 dCEF

Re: RSP720 fabric channel speed [ In reply to ]
That's normal, older Sup switching matrixes were not running
in active/active mode.

So, the standby Sup is doing exactly that - standing by to take
over.
