AS5350 Internal clocking.
Hello, I know on an AS5300 when configuring the T1 controller while in
"controller-config" mode you enter "AS5300(config-controller)#clock source
internal" in order to get internal clocking done on the T1s.
I have now, an AS5350 and I can't find the command option, is there a way to
do internal clocking on an AS5350?

On the newer platforms (AS5350/5400/5850), we use the
dial-tdm-clock command for this. Specificially, if you
want the platform's TDM clock to freerun, use:

dial-tdm-clock priority <n> freerun

where <n> is a higher priority than any other dial-tdm-clock
source. (1 being the highest.)

It looks like "freerun" is hidden ... so just enter it:

dial-tdm-clock priority 1 freerun

In 12.2(11)T, the whole "dial-tdm-clock" command is hidden :-(.
I'm going to check with current IOS, then if it's still hidden,
I'll file a DDTS to unhide it.

Turns out that I already filed that DDTS back in '01
and it was fixed in 12.2(7.1)T / 12.2(7.4):

Externally found minor defect: Resolved (R)
unhide and document dial-tdm-clock freerun option

In the MEANTIME, "dial-tdm-clock" has been hidden as it
has been deprecated in favor of the better designed
"tdm clock" command:

5400HPX-3(config)#tdm clock priority 1 ?
<1-7> Slot/Port number (e.g. 1/1)
external Select external reference(Bits) clock
freerun Select local oscillator clock

Evidently "tdm clock" was introduced on the AS5000s in
12.2(11)T ... unfortunately, our documentation hasn't caught
up with things yet ...
