NM-8AM
Can you go "outbound" 56k on the NM-AM modules? I know you can't do inbound
because of the limitations of 56k, but all of the docs I see say something
like "you can't do 56k because of the limitations of technology". That is
true for inbound calls on analog circuits, but not outbound so I am
wondering if the docs just are not clear.

Thanks.

No, the NM-AM modems are limited to V.34 (33600 bps.) There's
no theoretical limitation that would prevent them from doing
V.90; their DSP code just doesn't support V.90.

The newer WIC-AM modems support analog side V.90 (i.e. receive
at up to 56k when trained in V.90 with a digital modem.)
