Hello,
I think the change would be for the better. More social coding and an
easy way to fork repositories, share patches and apply them.
Anyway, if you only want to update your sources using svn and don't
change your update scripts, Github support it:
$ svn checkout
http://svn.github.com/cherokee/webserver cherokee
