When I deactivate a media asset, its corresponding entry in the media_uri table is removed from the database. Thus, the deactivated media can no longer be found in the interface by searching for its URI (after checking the "Include deleted" checkbox of course).
I am able to relocate the deactivated media asset by searching for its title. Upon reactivating it, an appropriate media_uri entry is re-entered into the database only after the asset is saved.
This causes some issues when trying to recover deactivated media - suppose you deactivated the wrong asset and need to find it again? What if you only know its URI?
