I have followed the instructions for configuring NTBHB and when I start the
application I get the following messages in the event log:

CANNOT broadcast mod_backhand statistics!

Cannot disable multicast socket loopback!

I have very little admin experience on NT so I am not sure where to go. I
am using a broadcast address not mulitcast. Any assistance would be greatly
appreciated. Feel free to respond directly if you wish. The unix servers
are broadcasting okay.

Setting up NT Backhand BroadcasterDoug,

Hi, this is the author of NTBHB. NTBHB always sets up a multicast and a =
broadcast socket so it is prepared to do both kinds of transmission. If =
you are using multicast or broadcast does not matter, it will always =
attempt to create both sockets. =20

The error is being thrown in the broadcast.cpp file in the setupSockets =
function. I can't tell you why it is throwing this error, the function =
should succeed. Perhaps you can check to see if you have the latest =
service pack installed on your NT box. If not you can try that and it =
may fix it.

Unfortunately, I am leaving for a conference tomorrow and don't have the =
time to look into this further right now. Try upgrading your NT service =
packs and test everything out again. If that fails try the NTBHB on =
another box. Your's may just have some weird problem with it's network =
stack or network driver. If you still have a problem I can try to help =
you out further in two weeks when I get back from the conference and =
settled back at home.

You should have NT 4 service pack 6, or windows 2000 service pack 2 at =
least.

Hope the service pack is the key..

Later
Rob
