Thanks Paulo,

I have persevered and found the issue . Which is very unexpected . I had
to re-install two mesa packages mesa-libGL and mesa-libGL-devel . They
were installed already , but when installed initially failed to create
the libGL.so.1.2.0 file and its symlink to libGL.so . All other files
were there from those packages except the most important one .
Unbelievable .
