Hello ,

I have downloaded the src rpm and have tried compiling . There is a
compilation issue :

+ mv

/root/redhat/BUILDROOT/nvidia-graphics319.17-319.17-155.el6.x86_64/usr/bin/nvidia-cuda-proxy-control-319.17
mv: cannot stat
`/root/redhat/BUILDROOT/nvidia-graphics319.17-319.17-155.el6.x86_64/usr/bin/nvidia-cuda-proxy-control':
No such file or directory
error: Bad exit status from /root/redhat/tmp/rpm-tmp.FWJrY3 (%install)

This is a renaming Axel created for avoiding conflicts with previous
versions
(the files were originally un-versioned).

Maybe nvidia fixed this issue and the renaming is no longer necessary.
Try commenting these two lines and see what happens...

Hello Paulo,

Thanks for that . I have commented the lines in the Spec file as per :

rm -f %{buildroot}%{_bindir}/nvidia-installer
rm -f %{buildroot}%{_bindir}/nvidia-uninstall
mv %{buildroot}%{_bindir}/nvidia-settings
%{buildroot}%{_bindir}/nvidia-settings-%{version}
mv %{buildroot}%{_bindir}/nvidia-xconfig
%{buildroot}%{_bindir}/nvidia-xconfig-%{version}
mv %{buildroot}%{_bindir}/nvidia-bug-report.sh
%{buildroot}%{_bindir}/nvidia-bug-report-%{version}.sh
mv %{buildroot}%{_bindir}/nvidia-smi
%{buildroot}%{_bindir}/nvidia-smi-%{version}
mv %{buildroot}%{_bindir}/nvidia-debugdump
%{buildroot}%{_bindir}/nvidia-debugdump-%{version}
#mv %{buildroot}%{_bindir}/nvidia-cuda-proxy-control
%{buildroot}%{_bindir}/nvidia-cuda-proxy-control-%{version}
#mv %{buildroot}%{_bindir}/nvidia-cuda-proxy-server
%{buildroot}%{_bindir}/nvidia-cuda-proxy-server-%{version}

That worked , and the compilation process continued , until we hit this :

Processing files: nvidia-graphics319.17-devel-319.17-155.el6.x86_64

This is easy. There are three new files
not listed in the package yet.

I will try to fix the spec ...

Hi: I don't really like doing this, but are you aware of:

kmod-nvidia-319.17-1.el6.elrepo.x86_64.rpm 09-May-2013 15:33 3.7M

and dependencies, available from mirrors listed here:

http://elrepo.org/tiki/Download

I don't have hardware that can use this, and I don't know quite how it
would play with other ATrpms-based stuff, but you might find it worth
investigating.

Cheers,

John P

I fixed the package:

http://people.atrpms.net/~pcavalcanti/srpms/nvidia-graphics319.17-319.17-155.fc17.src.rpm

Should compile just fine.

By the way, Axel told me he will be back soon ...

Hello Paulo,

Hey Thats great news , I was beginning to worry that he had stopped
working on atrpms .

I have compiled the src rpm , and compiled fine . When I tried to
install it the kernel module complained that it was missing dependency
/usr/sbin/depmod . This is strange since my depmod is in /sbin/depmod .
SO I just forced it in and all went in . I am testing the driver at the
moment and everything seems to be working well . I will keep an eye on
it to see if there are any issues .

Best Regards
Milorad

Hi,

all nvidia bits are fresh now for all distros (actually some legacy
drivers like 71.86.15 and 96.43.23 do not build anymore on newer
kernels, so that's not 100% true, but probably few people use that old
hardware on Fedora 18 or 17).

Thanks for your patience!!!
