Who will be at WWW4 in Boston?
Obviously I will be there, and RST will at least be in the neighborhood,
and its a pretty good bet that Brian will be there, and most of the NCSA
team as well. Anybody else?

Should I plan on scheduling a room for us to meet at some point?
I can arrange a semi-private BOF (or even a public BOF) if desired.

Actually, not true. While NCSA will have a presence it will not be as large
as in the past because:

1. It's during U of IL finals
2. Volunteers are expected to work the WHOLE conference (and therefore wouldn't
have time to attend any of the sessions) so it wasn't considered a good
use of funds to send a large number of volunteers.

As far as I know, I'll be going (I may be on a server panel, but they still
haven't told me for sure). Carlos Varela (former NCSA server person) will be
presenting on server administration. Adam Cain (Web security guru) will be
presenting with Judd Weeks on the PGP implementation. Dan LaLiberte (general
Web guru) will be attending. None of the rest of the NCSA attendees are
server related.

bummer

That's odd -- I thought NCSA was running the volunteers this time as well.
Being a volunteer at the Chicago conference was great. I wouldn't be
surprised if MIT/LCS + OSF screwed it up, though, since most of the rest
has been screwed up.

I'm trying to get there - have to justify the cost to my other
partners and make travel arrangements of course. Sounds like the
delegation from this group might be small, but a public BOF posted on the
boards there might draw a good crowd. I'd be happy to be a part of that.

I believe we are providing a coordinator (Sylvia Fry) who worked the previous
conferences, and she was the one that pointed out the differences in the volunteer
policies. NCSA provided large numbers of volunteers for the last conferences
because it was a cheaper way to get alot of the students to the conference. They
would work most of the time, but still be able to attend some of the workshops.
With budget cuts and not being granted any time off to attend some of the workshops,
NCSA isn't sending as many people to the conference.
