Mild confusion [Ben Laurie <ben@gonzo.ben.algroup.co.uk>] (fwd)
Ben - majordomo didn't recognize ben@gonzo.ben.algroup.co.uk as a
valid address to post to the list, but it does now.

Hi,

Okay, I'm new here, so please forgive my ignorance. I just ported 0.8.11 to
SCO. I now realise that I should have ported 0.8.12, or perhaps even .13?

I've read the stuff about voting, and I'm slightly confused.

a) Who allocates patch numbers?
b) How, at any particular moment, do I find out what C_VERSION is?
c) I assume that if a patch depends on other patches, its patchfile should
be the diffs against CURRENT+those other patches, and not against CURRENT
as the docs state?

On a slightly different note, I'm thinking about SSL (foolish, I know). Does
anyone have any inkling where source may be found for the various crypto bits
it requires?

Cheers,

Ben.

Ah, good. But, a spanner in the works: ben@gonzo.ben.algroup.co.uk is not
a valid mail address (at least, not from outside the algroup.co.uk domain),
since the ben.algroup.co.uk domain is entirely hidden by a firewall. The
appropriate address (ben@algroup.co.uk) appears in my Reply-To: field.
Unfortunately, majordomo hijacks this field, so my real mail address is
lost in the process. Majordomo should probably use the Reply-To: as the
From: instead of the original From:, and change the original From: to an
Original-Sender: (or something). If you see what I mean.

Of course, none of this matters if noone wants to email me :-(

Cheers,

Ben.
