Does qemu-xen/ROMBIOS collude to run any option roms for the device? I
suspect not in which case you might have to supply a suitable Etherboot
(or whatever it's called this week) for the NIC in question to be built
into hvmloader?

FWIW upstream qemu+SeaBIOS do allow for option ROMS, although I've only
tested that with the emulated NICs.
