Logging in?
How come I don't stay logged in permanently once I log in now? In other
words, why have the cookies been set to expire session/daywise?

They shouldn't, I don't think.

Yes, I always do that, but I always end up having to log back in the next day.

I have not investigated in a proper manner, so I will shut up until I do that. :-)

Did you click the checkbox for "Remember my password across sessions"
when you logged in?
