It is high time to redirect Wikimania.wikimedia.org to
wikimania2007.wikimedia.org. People need to start planning their
submissions and journeys to the conference this summer! Er, Brion....?
:)
As for archiving/freezing the 2006 site -- I wouldn't complain; there
was another rash of autofellatio images today (linked from commons, no
less). There's still work that could be done on the proceedings; but
preventing new usernames from registering, with a request button for
new accounts as Sj suggests, would help quite a bit on the vandalism
front. Can this be done?
As for separate sites -- it makes a nice clean division between each
year's conference. Even if it's a good idea to have one site, though,
I'm not volunteering to merge the three conference sites together at
this point :)
