Two people reported to me there were some rumors that
the location of Wikimania 2008 had been decided during
the board retreat.
I am not aware of such decision, though there was
indeed a discussion over the role of Wikimania. I
think there was no such decision, and it is just a bad
rumor.
However, I'd like the rumor to be clarified, so that
the possible groups thinking of proposing a bid do not
feel there is a lack of transparency.
So, does anyone knows anything on the issue and can
talk about it ?
