#1702: RHEL6 Init-script: startup errors piped to /dev/null
---------------------+-----------------------
Reporter: denisb | Type: defect
Status: new | Priority: normal
Milestone: | Component: packaging
Version: unknown | Severity: normal
Keywords: |
---------------------+-----------------------
On RHEL6 the init-script pipes stdout and stderr to /dev/null, which means
that any startup-errors will be lost.
It would in many cases be helpful to have these errors to a logfile.
Current behaviour is easy to reproduce if you pass an invalid parameter to
varnishd via DAEMON_OPTS in /etc/sysconfig/varnish
