trac on Suse 8.2 followup
Hi.

So, after a lot of trouble including a reinstallation of the system, trac now seems to be running so far on SuSE 8.2.

What I had to install (in no particular order):

apache 2.0.50-1
libapr0-2.0.50-1
python 2.2.2-92
python tk 2.2.2-92
subversion 1.0.6-2
subversion cvs2svn 1.0.6-2 (Python Bindings!)
pysqlite 0.5.0-1
sqlite 2.8.14-1
sqlite-devel-2.8.14-1 (_sqlite)
clearsilver 0.9.7-1
blt 2.4y-167
neon 0.24.4-70
swig 1.3.17-86
tix 8.1.3-280
w3m-0.3.2.2-58
trac-0.7.1-1SuSE

All of it was installed with rpm's, mostly from
<ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/suse/i386/8.2/suse/i586/> and <ftp://ftp.suse.com>

I could not install docutils, since it asks for python 2.3. Trying to update from python 2.2 to 2.3 shows a lot of dependancies, which I'm not sure how to solve.

From a quick walkthrough, I think all is running OK. I only see warnings in the apache error_log:

RuntimeWarning: Python C API version is mismatch for module neo_cgi: This Python has API version 1011, module neo_cgi has version 1012

same with _sqlite and neo_util, neo_cs

Is this important to solve? If yes, where do these neo_xx files belong to? Neon?

An important part to successful installation was to update apache. I updated to 2.0.50. I read 2.0.48 should have worked, too.

One big problem persits (and this might be well no trac problem but a apache problem): The css files an pictures don't load. I checked the paths, and they seem to be OK. I can enter http://mvbuero.de/trac and get the correct folder listing. clicking on a picture only shows the error "The image ?http://mvbuero.de/trac/milestone.png? cannot be displayed, because it contains errors."

When downloading the pictures, they can be opened without problems. Interesstingly wiki.png can be opened (1 of 3 in this folder)

Any help on this problem is welcome. I searched the web for quite a while and checked all the Apache settings I understand, but I have no idea what's wrong here.

So, this email got a bit lengthy, sorry. Hopefully it contains some interessting info at the beginning, and somebody can help me with the final problems.

Thanks,
Michael Vogt

It shouldn't. Docutils requires Python 2.2 or later, and can even be used with
2.1, with some care. Maybe the package is not correct, if you can force the
install on the 2.2 interpreter, it will work.
