What exactly do I need to add to my DNS server for SPF and Caller-ID?
Hello all.

I run a domain called tcln.com and have my own DNS servers based on
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 DNS.
I have my Host and MX records setup as follows:

mail IN A 67.19.62.84
tcln.com IN MX preference: 10
exchange: mail.tcln.com

Based on a wizard I found, I think I need to add the following:

v=spf1 mx

So I added a TXT record to my DNS server and it now appears as:

tcln.com IN TXT v=spf1 mx

However the checker at http://www.dnsstuff.com/pages/spf.htm comes back
with:

Error: I could not get the SPF string [.SPF not supported:
colorado2.pro-gamerspit.com. [j=0 an=1 type=TXT rr=tcln.com. dom=tcln.com
n1="IN TXT "v=spf1 mx""]].

Can anyone help me?

My MSN Messenger address is ryster_ AT hotmail.com

Thanks
Ryan Spooner

Checking your spf record on

http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?domain=tcln.com

gave me this :-

##
You have an SPF record. This is very good, as it will help prevent spammers
from abusing your domain. Your SPF record is:
"v=spf1 mx -all" [TTL=3600]

##

and the spf checker gave me this --

##
SPF lookup of sender droid@tcln.com from IP 67.19.62.86:
SPF string used: v=spf1 mx -all.
Processing SPF string: v=spf1 mx -all.
Testing 'mx' on IP=67.19.62.86, target domain tcln.com, CIDR 32,
default=PASS. No match.
Testing 'all' on IP=67.19.62.86, target domain tcln.com, CIDR 32,
default=FAIL. MATCH!
##

Did you enter your domain's IP as well as your domain name?
