Creating SPF record in Windows 2000 DNS
Hello All,

So MS is deciding to use SPF to fight spam. So i visit the
http://spf.pobox.com/wizard.html page and complete the wizard.

So what next? How do I create an SPF record so all of my hotmail clients
continue to receive my emails?

Sorry if I sound frustrated, but I am.

Thanks in advance everyone!

Eddie

If you are using a MS DNS server then just go to your zone in the DNS
MMC, right-click and choose to create an "other record", select a type
of TXT and paste the info from the wizard, no need to add a name
(defaults to same as parent).

No need to get frustrated. MS is supposedly going to check for spf
records, but this doesn't mean mail will be rejected if you do not have
spf records for your domain. It will probably mean they will reject mail
if your domain has a spf record which denies the server sending the
mail.

If you choose to use spf, do check out the documentation available on
spf.pobox.com, so you really know what you are doing. By just getting a
wizard to fix your problem fast, you might get yourself into more
trouble than you thought you'd fix.
