Hi all,
My email forwarder allows me to change the DNS records so I'm trying to
setup the SPF record..but I think I need some help.
I have an old version of Mdeamon on my network which is consolidating mine
and my wife's mail and a couple of other ISP accounts. Sometimes I like to
have this server smtp mail direct to MX holders (especially if it goes over
my ISP's limits (size not quantity)) but usually I forward everything
through my ISP's (nildram) SMTP server.
So I need to have an SPF that will handle sending direct from my fixed IP
and from my ISP's SMTP IP. I've done it using both my IP and the DNS of
nildrams SMTP server as a: records
v=spf1 mx a:myIP a:Nidrams -all
If I test this (at SPFToolsinfinitepenguins.net)using my IP in the SMTP
client it works ok.
If I put a fake IP there and rely on the HELO of smtp.nildram.co.uk it fails
saying the lookup on Nildram didn't work.
What have I done wrong?
Thanks
Deci
