Interesting permerror
caa.com text "v=spf1 a mx \226\128\147all"

Obviously a permerror. However, the diagnostic comes out looking like this:

Received-SPF: permerror -all (mail.bmsi.com: permanent error in
processing domain of caa.com: Unknown mechanism found)

if the displaying software supports UTF8. Now try explaining why their
record is actually broken . . .

This argues for escaping mechanisms for inclusion in permerror reports.

Yes, and in SMTP replies. Maybe %hex., we have
that anyway in URLs.
