How do I post followups to the list?
Hello,

I'm obviously new to the list. I can post an original message, but can't
figure out how to post a followup (reply) to someone else's response to my (or
anyone else's) post. It can't be that hard, but I'm not finding it anywhere.
When I try using the "Action" drop down and pick followup I get stopped with a
message saying I'm top posting and don't do that. I've searched the docs and
maybe the answer is there, but I'm not finding it.

FWIW I'm receiving the list in digest form if that impacts how I would reply
to a post.

It sounds like you are using Loom, the Gmane web-based client. With Gmane you
need to put your text *below* any text you are quoting. This is a standard style
in discussion groups and Loom seems to be enforcing that style.

Hope this helps,

What email client are you using?

Mike,

I'm using GroupWise. (And with this message I'm trying to reply to the list as
a couple of others have suggested I should - by using Reply to All.)

Nancy,

OK. I am going to try that. Once I get past the "There's much more quoted text
in your article than new. Prune quoted stuff." Which of course is forcing me to
post even more.

Mike you are slipping if you have to ask that question on an
anti-spam list...

It's *meant* to be forcing you to trim unnecessary quoted context. :)

(It's refreshing to find something enforcing decent quoting styles.
Who's for adding this to INN-2.4.2 and popular MTAs and enforcing it
elsewhere too? ;}}} )
