spamd running but not scanning
I am having a weird problem where at some point spamd just quits scanning
email. There is no particular reason why... any clues? A restart of the
daemon gets it back on track.

This is the error I am seeing in the log when things start failing:

Feb 29 23:50:09 mail3 spamc[6359]: failed sanity check, 1496 bytes claimed,
6188 bytes seen

Any clue what is causing this?

we have those trouble sometimes if the load of our machine gets way too
high. so its a matter of timeouts. had to set timing higher, so there is
enough time for spamd checking the mail in time.
made due to timing tweaking of the milter app (miltrassassin) within
sendmail.mc

This has happed three times to me, also... most recently Monday (I posted
something to this list about it. I'm not getting an error message,
though.

What's your environment?

I have

* SA 2.63 (from CPAN, not RPM)
* ClamAV 0.67 & clamav-milter
* spamass-milter 0.2.0+cvs
* Fedora Core 1 (current patches, stock 2174 kernel); previously reported
under 2166, IIRC
* Sendmail 8.12.10-1.1.1 (standard Fedora package)

I see that the Fedora project just released an updated Perl for FC1 (Perl
5.8.3). Anyone have any thoughts as to whether this might help?

(As an aside, does anyone know if Fedora releases "errata" details like
Red Hat did/does for previous RHL's? It's kind of nice to know what
changed when an updated RPM gets posted.
