SpamAssassin mailing list RFC compliance (fwd)
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

A list user asking for the addition of the "List-Id" header.
FWIW, I agree -- "List-Id" is very useful, and a "SHOULD" in
RFC-land is pretty much "if at all possible" ;)

Any chance we can get List-Ids added to the SpamAssassin lists?

Subject: SpamAssassin mailing list RFC compliance

Justin,

Don't know who to direct this to really, but figured you might, so here it
is...

I'd like to lobby for the mailing lists, both "users" and "dev", to go back
to being RFC2369/2919 compliant. They used to be but aren't any more, now
that they have migrated over to the Apache world.

In particular, the list tags "List-Help", "List-Post", "List-Subscribe", and
"List-Unsubscribe" are all there ("List-Owner" isn't, but I don't care :-)
), but the "List-Id" tag has gone the way of the dodo. Admittedly this tag
is only a "SHOULD" in RFC2919, but it was such a nice "should"... :-)

Do you know anybody who can convince the mailing list guys to define this
header and put it back in?

Thanks for your help,
rnd
