rsyslog 8.2308.0 released
Hi all.

Today, we release rsyslog 8.2308.0.

This release consists of a number of bugfixes for different modules
and parts of rsyslog as well as a few additions.

Most notably is the addition of the new output module
omazureeventhubs. The purpose of the the new plugin omazureeventhubs
is to provide a fast and reliable way to send log data from rsyslog to
Microsoft Azure Event Hubs. More details are available on the doc page
of the module:

Also, there are other changes, i.e. testbench improvements, improved
openssl reliability and many more.

Please make sure to read the changelog to get more details about the
additions and an overview of all changes.

Note on packages: The packages for RHEL/CentOS are not yet ready and
will most likely follow tomorrow.

It would appear the OEL8 packages are broken again for this release, similar errors to the last release. Reproducible on multiple systems and all after clearing yum cache.

Dear Tobias,

we switched from "libfastjson" to our own package "libfastjson4" with this
release on CentOS 8. CentOS 7 and 9 were already using libfastjson4. Can you
show me the repo file you are using?

There were some minor tweaks and updates in the last few months:
http://rpms.adiscon.com/v8-stable/rsyslog.repo

And there is a dedicated repo files for RHEL releases now:
http://rpms.adiscon.com/v8-stable/rsyslog-rhel.repo

It should install proberly and replace libfastjson like this:

I updated my rsyslog.repo file, cleared cache and the updates succeeded. As you noted it was likely some small tweaks in the repo file.
