We have a newtork with a lot of routers (Cisco, Enterasys/Cabletron,Allied
Telesyn and Extreme), all but Cisco using OSPF. To block IPs we use a PC running
Quagga/OSPF and create specific routes do /dev/null. After upgrade from
FC6/0.99.7 to FC7/0.99.9 Quagga is freezing the network, because routers are
constantly loosing routes and there is not a consensus about who is DR and
backup. We reconfigured the routers, setting interfaces priority to 0 to reduce
the number of DR candidates, but it did not resolve the problem. So, I
downgraded to 0.99.6 and things became normal. Logs can be downloaded at
ftp://ftp.cecom.ufmg.br/pub/quagga-bugs/logsquagga.tar.gz. File zebra.init show
initialization and version of quagga processes. Files kernel* shows which
version of the kernel is running. Files quagga* show quagga log messages. We can
allocate a computer with linux and a ssh account to help you to make tests
(please: controlled tests, with a cron job to kill quagga processes, because we
are talking about more than 10.000 computers without access to internet and
internal services).
