Let me add GDBM_File to that list. (It has the bare minimum to squeak
past any adequacy check.) Probably [GNSO]DBM_File could all just refer
to one (say NDBM_File) for most of the description, and then document the
differences.

I'm not sure what you mean "for the holidays". I'm hoping to get this
wrapped up this weekend for a g patch about Tuesday. :-)

By the way, the header lines on many man pages carry the title "system
commands" and worse, the number (1) instead of (3) as it should be for
libraries/extensions (in compliance with UNIX conventions)!

It'd be great if you could fix these while you're at it!

(Courtesy of Andreas Koenig who raised my attention to this - the story behind
this was that I blindly and unthinkingly copied these models and got a flame
from him which I answered with "But _ALL_ the Perl extensions do this - what's
wrong with it?") :-)

I started using "PERL EXTENSIONS" instead of "system commands".

I'm in the middle of redoing the internals of Math:BigInt (to allow
some speed up vis C code support), but as I don't expect the interface to
significantally change I'll work on the pod stuff first. I'll also
do Math::BigFloat and when I up grade bigrat.pl to Math:BigRat i'll od it too.
Hopefully by the end of the year.

Don't panic folks. Various bits of local institutional idiocy have been
occupying me for more than full time-and-a-half, and unless patch g
takes less than about an hour for me to pull together, it might have to
wait until the new year.

Don't panic about that either, though. I should be able to find that
hour next Wednesday (20 Dec), and I'm hoping that's all it takes.

As some kind of flu disturbs my concentration and MM-5.15 still needs
a bit work, here is at least what I have done for minimod.pl.

BTW, where is the version number of pod2man? I can't find any hint in
the source. The version 5.002b1f at least doesn't complain about the
resulting pod.

There isn't. I can put one is.
I added various checks to make sure people
were giving good man pages when I documented the
pod2man thing itself.
