Release announcement for perl 5.39.2
It's no secret that a conscience can sometimes be a pest
It's no secret ambition bites the nails of success
Every artist is a cannibal, every poet is a thief
All kill their inspiration and sing about the grief

-- U2, "The Fly"

We are delighted to announce version 39.2, the second development
release of version Perl 5.

You will soon be able to download Perl 5.39.2 from your favorite CPAN
mirror or find it at:

https://metacpan.org/release/PEVANS/perl-5.39.2

SHA256 digests for this release are:

3436c376027e2df451ccb586dae6bb7a7a6e49b289a9fb895acdedd529ae146e perl-5.39.2.tar.gz
b7ae33d3c6ff80107d14c92dfb3d8d4944fec926b11bcc40c8764b73c710694f perl-5.39.2.tar.xz

You can find a full list of changes in the file "perldelta.pod" located
in the "pod" directory inside the release and on the web at

https://metacpan.org/pod/release/PEVANS/perl-5.39.2/pod/perldelta.pod

Perl 5.39.2 represents approximately 4 weeks of development since Perl
5.39.1 and contains approximately 38,000 lines of changes across 510
files from 24 authors.

Excluding auto-generated files, documentation and release tools, there
were approximately 27,000 lines of changes to 370 .pm, .t, .c and .h
files.

Perl continues to flourish into its fourth decade thanks to a vibrant
community of users and developers. The following people are known to
have contributed the improvements that became Perl 5.39.2:

Beckett Normington, Dagfinn Ilmari Mannsåker, David Golden, David
Mitchell, Elvin Aslanov, Erik Huelsmann, Greg Kennedy, H.Merijn Brand,
James E Keenan, James Raspass, Karen Etheridge, Karl Williamson, Leon
Timmermans, Lukas Mai, Nicolas Mendoza, Nicolas R, OpossumPetya, Paul
Evans, Raul E Rangel, Ricardo Signes, Richard Leach, Steve Hay, Tony
Cook, Yves Orton.

The list above is almost certainly incomplete as it is automatically
generated from version control history. In particular, it does not
include the names of the (very much appreciated) contributors who
reported issues to the Perl bug tracker.

Many of the changes included in this version originated in the CPAN
modules included in Perl's core. We're grateful to the entire CPAN
community for helping Perl to flourish.

For a more complete list of all of Perl's historical contributors,
please see the AUTHORS file in the Perl source distribution.

We expect to release version 5.39.3 on 2023-09-20. The next major stable
release of Perl should appear in the first half of 2023.

Thanks all, and enjoy.

Ahyes; I hadn't quite finished the last few steps. This should fix it
