Apologies for not participating in the discussion about Sfio. Life/work
is interfering with my free time just now. When things cool down a bit,
I do intend to raise my profile again. :-)
Anyway, although I haven't participated in the discussions in p5p of
late, I have been lurking and have read all the messages in the sfio
thread.

As some of you know, I started a prototype Perl interface to Sfio last
year. This took the form of an external module interface to sfio. No
attempt was made to get Perl to use sfio internally.
I had intended posting it when I got it working to an acceptable
level. Unfortunately I got sidetracked with xsubpp and source
filters.
Parts work, parts don't. I thought I had disciplines working, but I
just ran the test harness and it didn't.
Given the variable nature of my free time, I think it would be better
if someone else took the Sfio module on. Much as I would love to
continue with it, I am having enough trouble getting the time to look
at source filters/xsubpp. I haven't even had a chance to build the
latest copy of sfio that I uploaded to CPAN recently.
Does anyone want to take it on?
