Re: [Foundation Board] Kickoff Meeting - The Enterprise Readiness effort April 30th 10am pacificfoundation-board@lists.openstack.org
Are there any notes from the meeting ?

At one of the operator sessions at the summit (https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/ATL-ops-unconference-RFC), we're reviewing some of the gaps and I'd like to make sure the efforts stay sync'd up.

This is very consistent with the discussions held at the operators mini-summit and some of the attendees could provide a useful pool of additional volunteers once the structure is set up.

I understand this meet to be a follow on to the operators summit. I like this and I want to support the effort. I understand the goals asked to be worked on:
- enterprise IT requirements vs. today's OpenStack capabilities
- market perceptions
- define a set of recommendations to ensure OpenStack meets the technical requirements of Enterprise IT to deploy Private Clouds

Alan/Imad, are you going to host a room in the Bay Area for folks that can congregate there? We're happy to host at Piston in the city, but it's the first day in our new office so there may not be very many chairs.

Board members,

At the last board meeting we discussed and proposed to initiate an open work group analyze enterprise IT requirements vs. today's OpenStack capabilities and market perceptions and define a set of recommendations to ensure OpenStack meets the technical requirements of Enterprise IT to deploy Private Clouds and has the right market awareness and perception to achieve this.

We would like to kick off this work group with an organizing phone call on April 30th to get things moving. Time: 10:00 am-11:00am pacific. Imad has volunteered to kick off the effort with support from staff Carol and David. (Most of you met David at our Palo Alto F2F)

Callin information, notes and ideas for the effort are located on an etherpad: https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/Win-The-Enterprise

The effort is kicked off by the Board but definitely needs collaboration from the community. The first item on the first call will discuss how best to invite people to the effort. Second item is to begin to breakdown and organize the effort.

Thanks,

AlanClark

Yes, you can find them at the etherpad: https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/Win-The-Enterprise

At the Summit next week in Atlanta, there will be a Birds of a Feather session. It is scheduled for: 5/14, 2:00 - 3:00 in room B407, which is located in the GWCC, on Level 4 of Building B (the same building as 99% of all OpenStack functions). It's just down the hall from Event Registration. Pls pass this along to anyone you think might be interested in participating.

Regards,
Carol
