[Bug 1231] "Tunnel ethernet" always uses next tap-device
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1231

Summary: "Tunnel ethernet" always uses next tap-device
Product: Portable OpenSSH
Version: 4.3p2
Platform: ix86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: ssh
AssignedTo: bitbucket@mindrot.org
ReportedBy: h.goebel@goebel-consult.de

When using "Tunnel ethernet", the client always uses the next available
device number. Options like "-w 11" or "-w 11:any" are ignored.

This makes "Tunnel ethernet" unusable.

Debug-output seam okay:

debug1: Requesting tun.
debug1: sys_tun_open: tap7 mode 2 fd 7
debug1: channel 1: new [tun]

but 'ifconfig -a' reports:
tap11 Link encap:Ethernet Hardware Adresse ....
BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
...
