ntop cgi directory
Hi all

1 does ntop still support cgi ? if so what directory shoul i put my cgi
scripts in? and
2 does ntop support NPH or non parsable headers in cgi scripts.

I am running redhat 7.1 and have ntop version 1.3.2-5
I see the home directory but no /CGI directory and cannot seem to create
one that works.

Thanks

Madhav

No cgi support anymore.

Nope.

I'm turning ntop into a network probe: as of today ntop is already too
fat. Any major functionality has to go outside ntop itself. That's why I
have added the PErl/PHP interface.

RE: ntop cgi directory [ In reply to ]
Hmm.. .. Oh well. Thanks for the quick response Luca. Anyone
have pointers for converting a C++ cgi script into a php page?
Also, forgive my ignorance but is there documentation on the
perl/PHP interface?
One last note:

Hey Luca,

Does ntop live happily with on the same box with snort IDS? I know both
programs throw the NIC's into promiscuous mode, I was wondering if i
might have problems in data gathering.
Do you know if anyone has tried to make the two work together in
producing reports?
I like ntop's alert capabilities but need something geared
specifically to IDS to work while ntop gathers traffic stats.
I've had ntop working on our webservers for quite a while now
and I really like what I see it doing. The Stats alone have helped me
isolate a number of user connectivity problems. PLUS it has let me win
some shouting match's with some of our ISP's.. It helps having numbers
on your side :)
