Current status of PF_RING 6.6 and dev
Hello all,

I'm getting ready to package PF_RING 6.6 for the Security Onion
distro, which is based on Ubuntu 14.04. I noticed the following git
commits after 6.6 was released:
https://github.com/ntop/PF_RING/commit/e8332230a6f39e08368eca0084af369a744b624b
https://github.com/ntop/PF_RING/commit/0f6511a7018ca1e6083067d90e4e96000a99842e

Is the current dev branch in git considered stable for production
usage right now?

Would you recommend that I package the 6.6 release or the current dev
branch in git?

Thanks!

Hi Doug
I recommend you to go ahead packaging 6.6 as we are currently working on the dev code (reworking the kernel module).

Hi Alfredo,

Thanks for the reply!

Just to confirm, the 6.6 release will work fine on Ubuntu 14.04 even
without the following fix marked as "Fix for Ubuntu 14 kernel series"?
https://github.com/ntop/PF_RING/commit/e8332230a6f39e08368eca0084af369a744b624b

Thanks!

Hi Doug
yes 6.6 will work fine, those case entries under ifdef were not there in 6.6.
