Yo All!

Since about 9:35am PDT. I can not seem to get to broadviewnet.com. Not
to my customer on broadview or even to the broadviewnet.com web site.
Not from Sprint, not from Level3, not from Alternet.

I assume they are just down hard?

Is it just their website thats down, or do you have BVN circuits that are
down? If circuits, which market? Most of Broadview's markets are
acquisition, so if BVN circuits in Phila, PA area are down, its the old
ATX network, and so on. I know alot of people from the old ATX so if its
Philly area (south jersey, delaware), I could probably find out whats
going on.

I have circuits that are down, but their website (and phones) were down for
about 4 hours.

Just got through after 45 mins to a support person. They are releasing
very little info. Seems like the circuits in the NYC area that
Broadview resells from Covad and Verizon are the ones that have been
having problems. Just had another blip here, so the event is now 9 hours
old.

No ETA on a final fix.

For what its worth, Philly appears to be fine.

I have a switch in Broadview's Philadelphia POP - its actually in their
core Telco room. The switch itself is for some Zayo fiber bridging for a
private IP wireless application, but the switch has a plain old public
GigE fiber link from Broadview's core for IP access. I can hit it now from
home (Comcast), getting 8ms latency, hitting the following hops:

**hidden**
5 te2-2.ccr01.jfk07.atlas.cogentco.com (154.54.1.218) 3.347 ms
te2-7.ccr01.jfk07.atlas.cogentco.com (154.54.1.134) 12.666 ms
te7-1.ccr01.jfk07.atlas.cogentco.com (154.54.27.206) 3.349 ms
6 38.104.190.46 (38.104.190.46) 3.147 ms 3.158 ms 3.250 ms
7 static-64-61-112-181.isp.broadviewnet.net (64.61.112.181) 3.490 ms
3.306 ms 3.318 ms
8 sw1.phla0.g14-2.atx.net (72.44.165.165) 6.613 ms 6.653 ms 6.461 ms
9 146.145.78.24 (146.145.78.24) 6.630 ms 6.697 ms 6.795 ms
MPLS Label=14707 CoS=0 TTL=1 S=1
10 146.145.78.87 (146.145.78.87) 6.779 ms 6.723 ms 6.649 ms
**hidden***

I'm hitting BVN from a Cogent peer in NYC (JFK), then its BVN onnet down
to phila as the next hop is the old ATX switch. BVN bought ATX in 2007.

Fabric card in large distribution router was dropping lots of packets. Took a while to reroute around it.

Major effect was in NYC and to a lesser extent some intercity Internet transit

Was mostly restored by 8:30 PM EDT
