media temple outage
It seems that mediatemple.net and sites for which they serve DNS have
been down for 30 minutes or so. Their twitter claims that it seems to
be a DNS misconfiguration and that the servers are not actually down.

some day, virendra is going to have to create the

Can you point to a scholarly discussion on the differences (and how to
make them visible) between outage-broken, not-outage-broken,
outage-not-broken, and not-outage-not-broken suitable for display to
whiny customers?
