ICX 7750 sfp port acting weird
I have an ICX 7750 that has an SFP port acting really strange. This has been installed for about 9 months now and a couple weeks ago I plugged up a new interface with a 10G LR SFP+. The new connection ran fine until yesterday. The link suddenly dropped with the only message in the console stating that the link had dropped. No errors.

Today I visited the switch and swapped out the SFP+ thinking that could have gone bad even though it was brand new, no change. I swapped out the fiber jumper, no change. I did the same on the other end of the link, no change. After doing all of that, I moved the SFP+ to a different port and it linked right up. That was interesting so next I logged into the switch just to see what I can figure out.

At first, it showed there was no SFP in the port:

#sh media e 1/1/5
Port 1/1/5: Type : EMPTY

After some time passed (maybe a couple hours), it started showing this:

#sh media e 1/1/5
Port 1/1/5: Type : 1GE M-SX(SFP)
Vendor: Version:
Part# : Serial#:

And then again, after another couple hours, it shows this:

#sh media e 1/1/5
Port 1/1/5: Type : 10GE LR 10km ((SFP+))
Vendor: ???????????????? Version: ??
Part# : ???????????????? Serial#: ???????????????

I did not touch the port or the SFP during the time between the media checks. Note that it went from empty, to showing a 1G SFP, to showing a 10G LR SFP+. It’s not reading part numbers or serial numbers or anything.

I’ve tried just reloading the switch from the CLI. I have not tried a complete power cycle yet.

I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas to try before I go opening up a TAC case.

What code version? I've noticed that early code versions tend to have
a lot of "quirks".

Is it a brocade optic? That is probably the first question TAC will
ask. Then they will check the compatibility matrix (the 10G-SFPP-LR
is supported): http://www.brocade.com/en/backend-content/pdf-page.html?/content/dam/common/documents/content-types/datasheet/brocade-ethernet-optics-family-ds.pdf
