IPv6 support on FESX648-PREM
Hello,

We have a FESX648-PREM that I'd like to use to announce an IPv6 range. It
was my understanding that the FESX648-PREM supported IPv6, but I can't seem
to enter the IPv6 section of my BGP config:

SSH@FESX648 Router(config-bgp-router)# address-family ipv6 unicast
Invalid input -> address-family ipv6 unicast
Type ? for a list
SSH@FESX648 Router(config-bgp-router)#

My router version info is as follows:

SSH@FESX648 Router(config-bgp-router)#show version

Is BGP4+ not supported on the FESX648-PREM?

Just use "address-family ipv6"

Leave off the unicast. Probably a bug there, but is mostly harmless.

Works great once you figure that little oddity out.

Hi Jeff,

Unfortunately the same result. Niels pointed out to me that BGP4+ isn't
supported by the FESX648-PREM, but I don't think his reply was CCed back to
the mailing list:

Is BGP4+ not supported on the FESX648-PREM?

Sadly, no... See page 105 of the FastIron 7.2.02 Config Guide.

Oh, right. My experience was with SuperX's and SX800's. Sorry for the
confusion. I thought I had done it on FESX648-PREM6's as well, but I have
not, only on the chassis based gear.
