Configuring Console Speed on MLXe
Hi All

I feel somewhat stupid at the moment... I searched on the web and in Brocades documentation for an hour now,
but can find no hint in how to change the speed of the serial console.

Can anyone help me with this ?

Regards

Matthias

Hi Matthias,
Our devices only run at the standard VTY100 9800 bps; we don't support changing this to a lower or higher setting.

All the technical bits on the serial console are actually in the device's hardware install guide (not our config guides). We try to keep folks on their tows :)

What terminal server are you using? Minicom or Terraterm? Have you tried adjusting the speed on the terminal server end?

I could never figure out why. Every single rs232 uart produced in the last
20 years has supported up to 115200 bps. The situations where I typically
end up using the console are initial box installation, certain types of
debugging and OOB network rescue. In all these situations, 9600 is a drag.
