Where to buy foundry gear WAS:AW: Question regarding my wishlist
Hello Cliff,

Thanks for your mail.
You are absolutely right - we definitely need the J-BxGMR4 or J-B2GMR4 which
would have 2 ports only.

Can someone recommend me a source for this module?
I've been checking my usual sources for used/refurbished foundry gear like
networkliquidators.com or other used-gear-sellers but it looks like jetcore
is relatively hard to get. Looks like I need to buy a brand new one, huh?

Best regards + a happy new year,
Gunther

It sounds like you just want Bronze support which I don't think is too
expensive. You get Warranty software upgrade access for one year I believe.

http://www.foundrynet.com/services/servicePrograms/bronze.html

You probably want:

1 x BI4000 Chassis
1 x RPS3 90-220VAC Power Supply for BigIron 4000 & BigIron 8000
1 x J-BxGMR4 8-port mini-GBIC based Gigabit management module
4 x E1MG-SX 1000Base-SX mini-GBIC optic, MMF, LC connector

Subject: [f-nsp] Question regarding my wishlist

Hello Colleagues,

I'm going to buy a foundr bigiron 4000 that is going to be used as a router
for up to 200 megabits of traffic (about 25k pps) using bgp4. I need two
gigabit-uplink-ports.

My current wishlist can be found below. I'd appreciate your feedback..
Are there any drawbacks regarding my choice of modules?

B4000 with dual-AC
J-FxGMR4 with 256 MB of Ram and 4 mini-gbics Fi3L3UR-PROM upgrade.

Does anyone know if I can get future software upgrades without a support
contract?
The chassi is brand new. So I should be able to get a support contract,
right.. If so? who's the best reseller?

Thanks,
Gunther
