Foundry newbie lab
Hello.

I am new to the Foundry line of networking hardware and would appreciate
any recommendations on what pieces of equipment I can purchase that
would give me a good foundation on understanding Foundry hardware.

I am very familiar with Cisco equipment, so I'm interested in learning
the CLI, feature syntax (e.g., ACL implicit denies at the end),
switching path quirks, etc.

Thank you in advance for your help.

A serveriron XL will get you good experience with the SLB and Layer2
functionality and any standard BigIron 4k would give you a good basic
understanding of the Layer 2/3 switching routing stuff.

Hi Michael,

I came from a cisco shop to a Foundry shop about a year ago. You'll find
they are VERY similar for the basic things. Route-maps, ACLs, etc. When
you bergin to look under the surface some things are different. sho diag,
for example...
