Software enumeration via SSH
I am conducting full scans (Enabled all plugins in safe mode) using Linux
Etch 4.0 machines and Nessus 3 server and client for linux. If I have a
machine scan itself, it seems to use all of the plugins and will report the
software/packages installed. If I have one scaning machine remotely scan
another Linux machine, it will not use all of the plugins, and will not
report on the software/packages installed.

Anyone have any idea why?

There could be many reasons:

- are you providing credentials for the remote scanner to log into the other machines?

- if you are providing credentials, do you see a login attempt?

- are the target machines firewalled?
