Dell server & Nessus
A user reported to me that each time Nessus scans his Dell 6800 series
server with an external DELL MD1000 drive (using PERC 5/E adapter to
service the drive), the external unit becomes non responsive. Before I
dig deep into the cause, has anyone seen this before? The OS is CentOS
5. The Dell box is reported to have all firmware updates (though not
confirmed just yet).

We're running SC 3.4.2 with Nessus 3.2.1 and using safe checks.

Anyway, just a high level inquiry here.

Thanks.

Sonny

Re: Dell server & Nessus [ In reply to ]
we have quite a number of 5/E computers and I've not seen this.

it's also common practice to blame the scanner when something else is wrong
