Disabling an Input when another is in use
Hi,

I'm running MythTV V3.2 and have just installed a Hauppauge Colossus 2 capture card. I have had to set this up with 2 profiles - one to record AC3 5.1 Surround Sound, the other to record AAC Stereo, since my source device cannot be set up to convert everything to AC3.

I've named the devices Colossus-Dolby and Colossus-AAC and I want to ensure that if Colossus-Dolby is being used to record or watch live TV, Colossus-AAC cannot be activated (and vice versa).

According to the guides I have found, I should be able to setup an Input Group in mythic-setup and add the two inputs to it, but this does not seem to work.

Does anyone have any idea how I can achieve this configuration?

Regards,

Dave.

PS. Thanks to John Poet for his great work on the driver and MythTV Wrapper - https://github.com/jpoet/HauppaugeUSB

That is the correct procedure. Please describe how you tested it and decided
it didn't work.

Hi David,

These are the steps I took:

1. Run mythtv-setup on the master backend

2. Select Option 5 - Input Connections

3. Select External (Colossus-Dolby)

4. Select Interactions between inputs

5. Select Create a New Input Group

6. Name it Colossus

7. Input Group 1, now shows as Colossus, Input Group 2 remains as Generic

8. Press Escape, then Save then Exit

9. Select Option 5 - Input Connections

10. Select External (Colossus-AAC)

11. Select Interactions between inputs

12.Select Input group 1

13. The only option available is Generic, I would expect to be able to choose Colossus

Maybe I'm missing something, but it doesn't seem obvious from the documentation I've read on this?

Regards,

Dave.

Okay, so you're having a problem with configuring the input group and
not actually using it (once it's configured), right? Since the
settings GUI was rewritten, the setting up of input groups has
frequently been temperamental. I confirmed that it's not working
again in a recent master. I know Peter Bennett did some work on input
groups recently but it was focused on the API and not mythtv-setup.
Please open a ticket on github and we'll try to look into it.
