I'm migrating my old Pi3 frontend from a 0.30 install on an SD card to a
fresh 0.31 install on an external SSD. One of the changes I thought I
would try in this go-around was to run mythfrontend directly in the
framebuffer instead of launching X. Video playback seems smooth, but for
the life of me, I cannot get audio working properly.
Can someone using a Pi3 help share what their audio settings are? I'm not
using the 3.5mm output and I've tried every option that doesn't read
CARD=Headphones. The best-case scenarios that I found are that I'm able to
hear audio during the speaker tests, but only the front two channels are
mapped correctly: "LFE" is coming out of Surround Right, "Surround Left" is
coming out of LFE, "Surround Right" is coming out of my center speaker, and
"Center" is coming out of my surround left speaker (no, I did not rewire my
AVR....) I'm also unable to pass through any of the standard codecs.
Additionally, I copied the instructions for creating a pcm.mythtv device,
but ALSA can't seem to find it. $ aplay -L lists the following devices:
