Maximum Number of Frontends
Is there a maximum number of frontends that mythtv supports? The only
reason I ask this is because I have heard from some people that mythtv
only supports up to 4 tuners. So I was wondering if that was also the
maximum number of frontends a master backend could talk to. I was
thinking about setting up mythtv in about 20 offices with just one
backend.
Thanks,
Colin

Damn can I come and work at your office!!

My _guess_ would be that the limit is more one of available bandwidth
than a physical number, but thats only a guess.

:D

Well, most likely (hopefully) we probably will not have too many people
watching at once. We may have like 3 or 4 at a time. Plus we have fiber
optic gigabit ethernet so bandwidth should not be that big of an issue,
unless everyone uses it at once. As fun as it may have sounded to have a
frontend in every office, the main use would probably be to play back
video conferences. I still have to finish up with the master backend.

There isn't a limit to the number of tuners, backends, or frontends aside from
such things as bandwidth, cpu, etc.
