Sound volume when recording with btaudio
I have noticed that the shows that I record have a low sound volume
compared music or non-nuv videos played on the same box. I am using
btaudio for my hauppauge win-tv card and it seems to be working fine
otherwise. The sound is high enough that if I turn the volume up to
almost full on my TV it is an acceptable level. But then when I listen
to music I have to adjust the base level so I don't get blasted out. If
I were using a standard sound card input I would look to mixer settings
but they don't seem to be adjustable for the btaudio mixer.

If your mixer doesn't work, try using xawtv to adjust your capture card's
volume.

I tried using xawtv and it doesn't have any sound unless I use the patch
cable method. I can't get it to even use btaudio let alone control the
sound level for it. Any other ideas?

You don't need to use btaudio for this. Use the patch cable temporarily for
xawtv. In the xawtv settings dialog/window, there's a volume slider. This
volume slider controls the *output* volume of your tuner card (not your
sound card). I don't know if this is the same as the btaudio mixer control,
but I suggest that it might be worth a try. After adjusting this in xawtv
(you actually don't need the patch cable unless you want to hear the results
in xawtv), fire up Myth and see if you get sound.
