Jerky sound and another minor issue
Hi,

Thanks for the help - I finally managed to get mythTV working.

MythTV looks good but I still have 2 problems/annoyances which might or may not be related:
1) When I start mythfrontend for the first time and select live TV I get picture but no sound. If I change channel sound comes up and works fine thereafter. I also get mythfrontend warnings that /dev/dsp is not at full duplex but this is due to nforce drivers and as far as I understand does not matter with PVR250 anyway since audio is encoded by it.
2) Occasionally I get some jerky audio which is sort of annoying and I would like to fix it. I checked DMA settings on my HDs and it's on. What else can cause this problem?

Here are some of my HW specs:
Shuttle NVidia mobo with nforce drivers (OSS audio)
Athlon XP 2000+
PVR250
GeForce4 MX with TV out
512 Meg RAM

CPU utilization when watching live TV ~15%
DMA is enabled

Any hints/pointers will be appreciated. Once fixed I'll share my findings.

Thanks,
Lev

Try running:

/usr/local/bin/test_ioctl -v input=7,output=1; sleep 3
/usr/local/bin/test_ioctl -v input=1,output=1

before starting up mythtv for the first time. I have to do this to get sound.
