Pundit Question
Hello all, I have set up the following configuration Asus Pundit 512 Megs Ram Redhat 9 Alsa Installed Myth-tv When I try to run Control Center, or browse to certain web sites (flash sites i think) the computer crashes, mouse won't move etc. I hard reboot and everything is fine. I have searched and found that this problem could be caused by aRts, But when I try to go into Control Center to turn it off, the computer crashes. I get lock ups in MythMusic as well. 1. How do I disable aRts manually, and 2. Has anybody using a Pundit seen this problem before. Thanks Bill

You could try bringing up a root prompt and issue "killall artsd". Then
try Control Center again, and you'll know if it is aRts or not...

Actually if you use KDE, you can go into the KDE control panel and look
for the sound settings, and disable arts from that setup.

Um, yes, but if you'll read his original message, part of the problem
was that the KDE control panel crashed every time he tried to launch
it. :)
