Maxtrox G400 TV-out help
The recent discussion of the Matrox cards reminded me that I have an
AGP twin-head G400 lying about. I also appear to have a converter
cable for VGA->S-video/Composite.

I have a working Geforce2 MX configuration, but there's a small
amount of interference on the screen that I'd let to get shot of,
so perhaps the Matrox might achieve that.

It looks like the Matrox-distributed MGA X11 driver supports TV-out.
Is that the way to go, or should I leave that and start off with
the framebuffer solution?

The TV-out on their X11 driver works, though it doesn't have Xv support on
the second head (Which also happens to be the only output port that allows
for TV-out). You will need to go with the framebuffer solution to get the Xv
support. There was a good howto posted to the -dev list several months back.

Good Luck!
