pvr-250 not recording
well, after quite a while I got my new pvr-250 working for livetv. It
works great for live, but there seems to be a problem with recording.

I've set up several programs to record, but they never show up in the
Recorded Programs listings. I'm just wondering if it's due to
underpowered hardware or some software misconfiguration. Right now I've
got one pvr-250 in a Quad PPro 200, with 256megs of ram, and 100gb of
scsi hardware raid space just for myth. This is my mythbackend output:

Any ideas of what could be going wrong?

Re: pvr-250 not recording [ In reply to ]
I have also problems with recording. For recording, one must select a
method to save the stream (Hardware MJPEG, MPEG-4 and the other one I
just do not remember). I would prefer to just save the video as it is
(MPEG2, what comes from /dev/video0 ).

What should one select to archive this?

regards,
Leonard

I get this error all the time (I don't have problems recording
though)... what is this VIDEOCGPICT stuff all about?

Hmm. The 'error reading from: /dev/video0' is troublesome, but it looks like
it recovered after that, else you'd be getting more of them.. Might want to
try turning off the transcoding stuff by setting the # of transcoders to 0 in
setup, and see if that helps..

Means the driver doesn't do the brightness/color/contrast controls yet.

It saves the video as mpeg2, the only thing it uses from the recording options
is the resolution.
