ran out of free AUDIO buffers :-(
Hello,

I'm getting "ran out of free AUDIO buffers :-(" messages in my
mythbackend logfile. Then it goes on to give me "audio behind" error
messages. Anyone know what's going on here and how I might be able to
fix it?

I'm using the CVS version, soundcard is a SBLive.

Thanks,

Vince

Well, this appears to have been caused by my front side bus
overclocking. I had jacked it up from 133 to 139 in my bios. Everything
else seemed to work fine but Myth would get the error mentioned below.
Went back to 133 and tried recording a 2 1/2 hour movie and everything
went fine.

I get this error every now and then. It seems to be random. I dont have my
fsb overclocked. I have not been changing anything in the bios. I cant
reproduce the error also. It just happens very infrequently.

Mine was happing every time I tried to record after overclocking my
fsb. After switching it back it seems alright. I'm going to keep my eye
on it though and see if it pops up again. What version of Myth are you
using? I know this was an issue a while ago that was supposed to have
been fixed in CVS.

Re: ran out of free AUDIO buffers :-( [ In reply to ]
It hasnt happened in a while. I keep updating my mythtv install to the
latest mythtv cvs. My last install was mythtv cvs of 4/29/03. I think
currently, the only major problem i have is that mythfrontend
occasionally crashes on watch recording screen after you exit from
watching a video. It used to be that I can just restart mythfrontend.
Now a restart of mythfrontend just hangs until I quit and restart the
backend.
